The BET Awards are back! Although the BET Awards fail to impress me each year I am going to shed light on it anyway.In the past, the gospel industry has had a slight influence on the award show. Artist such as Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, and Donnie McClurkin have momentarily made an appearance to shine their light on behalf of the entire gospel industry. For that moment, everyone in the audience who was previously turning up with Wacka is now worshiping with Yolanda. The appearance of one gospel artist during the entire show will make everyone in the audience feel “religious” for that one moment. Although the BET Awards isn’t meant to focus on gospel music, should gospel artist continue to make an appearance? Or should gospel artist remain completely separate from the secular world?
